Gone Again :(

Matt is gone again, which means that it’s time to fire up the old blog.  If it’s possible, I find that I have even less time available for this kind of thing than I had during Matt’s last deployment, so bear with me.  Allie is almost two and I just entered my third trimester of my last (and I mean LAST) pregnancy.  I’m working at home doing some bookkeeping for my Uncle Ken’s business and it seems like every appliance (ok, just the furnace and washing machine) has crapped out since Matt left.  Go figure.

Since many of you have asked, Matt’s mailing address is the same as last time:

Mr. Matthew Ferguson
SOTF-C (THF)
APO, AE  09342

We’ve been keeping busy since Matt has been gone and I’ve been promising him pictures.  It seems like Allie is changing so much, so fast!  Here are a few pictures of our trip to the zoo with Grandma, Pops and Aunt Jen:

We also went to Nyla’s 2nd birthday party.  Nyla is the daughter of one of the men Matt is deployed with.

Alright, that’s all I can get out for now.  I’ll post more pictures later!

Matt and Allie

As most people are already aware, Matt got back home on January 29th.  It has been so nice having him back.  It was amazing how quickly Allie warmed up to him and at how quickly he fell back into the roll of Dad.  Here is a quick picture of the two of them.  Allie loves putting on her Daddy’s boots…..

Christmas

I have known Matt for over ten years and have been married to him over nine.  After all of the years, Army schools, deployments throughout Asia and the middle-east, this is the first Christmas we have had to spend apart.  :(

Allie and I are blessed to have spent Christmas with my parents, sister, grandmother and aunts and uncles but it just wasn’t the same without Matt.

Matt described Christmas as “just another day” and/or “groundhog’s day”.  He said he had a secret Santa party at his office but that besides that, Christmas was uneventful for him.  He got an AAFES gift card at his party (which is the only place he can buy stuff in Iraq) but the holiday seemed to pass for him without too much excitement.  I’d like to thank each of you that took the time to send him Christmas gifts and cards.  Those little pieces of home meant a lot to him.

Having said that, I”m afraid that I wasn’t very good at taking pictures on Christmas.  Allie’s Christmas outfit was too big, she was having a crazy hair day and I was busy taking care of a child that hadn’t napped since early morning.  (Is Matt in for a rude awakening when he gets home or what?)  I’m sure that Stevie and Bobbie or Aunt Kathy might have gotten some good pictures and I’ll post them when I get them.  For now, I’ll post what I have for Matt.

New Pictures of Allie

Matt has been asking (ok, begging) for new pictures of Allie.  I wanted him to wait until Christmas but he said he couldn’t.  Here are a couple of shots I took tonight, just to hold him over for a few more days.  We love and miss you Matty!

(Allie was crying in the last picture because I wouldn’t give her the camera.  Go figure.  You can’t make everyone happy all the time….)

COLD!

Ok, so it has officially turned cold in Colorado Springs.  As you all know, I miss Matt horribly.  But I ESPECIALLY miss him when I’m shoveling the snow off of the driveway.  :)   We can’t wait for him to come home!

Here is a picture of Allie getting dressed up to go outside.  Those Uggs are coming in handy Oma!!

Lil’ Bigg’s

Aunt Jen has some friends with kids Allie’s age so she arranged a “play date” for us at a place called Lil’ Bigg’s.  (Sort of like a Chuck E. Cheese’s for babies.)  Allie had a blast.  They have little sections for the kids to play in.  They had a jail, a grocery store, a sand box, a bouncy room, a doctor’s office and more.  Some of the rooms even have costumes that you can play dress-up with.  I saw everything from a police man to a princess.

Thanks for the fun day, Aunt Jen!

Here are some photos!

Mom, Jen, Allie and I all traveled to California for a quick visit with Grandpa Grow and Jane.  Here are a few of the pictures we took while we were there and a few that we took in San Francisco while we were waiting on our flight.

Dog Park

After months and months of convincing from Jenny and Zac, I finally decided to take Kahlua to the dog park at Bear Creek.  I was just sure Kahlua was going to run away (it is a “leash free” park) and we’d NEVER get her back.  (Either that or she’d catch some weird dog disease and cost me a small fortune in vet bills.)  I guess having your hardwood floors redone makes you rethink things….

And though most of you don’t really care about dog pictures, Matt does.  I know it is very important to him that his dog is being exercised properly and is kept happy.  Matt, you’ll be happy to know that Kahlua had an absolute blast (and she hasn’t acquired any weird diseases yet)!

French Kissing

Allie LOVES kissing these days, but she hasn’t quite gotten the hang of the closed mouth pucker. She insists upon french kissing everyone, even the dog.

Ok, my mom might kill me for posting this picture but I couldn’t resist…..the timing was just right!
